Kyrill Gurtovenko, PhD

Kyrill Gurtovenko is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Washington School of Medicine and an attending psychologist at Seattle Children's Hospital Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine. His background is in the study of developmental psychopathology, emotion regulation, parenting and family adjustment. His current areas of interest and work include assessment and intervention for adolescent suicidality, self-injury and emotion dysregulation. He is the director of the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Clinic at Seattle Children’s Hospital, and he teaches courses on evidence based child and adolescent treatment at the University of Washington. He also currently collaborates with CoLab and the Washington State Health Care Authority to develop clinical tools and training based on elements of DBT, behavioral parent management training, and crisis intervention frameworks for high acuity youth in Washington State.
